2. Try boric acid or Diatomaceous Earth (DE).
3. Use pheromone traps.

If natural methods aren’t sufficient, then you can also purchase perimeter sprays or bait gels.  Use forethought when it comes to applying pesticides and consider hiring a professional an exterminator.  You can become injured or ill from misuing chemicals.  Taking precautions, such as purchasing trahs cans with lids and housing food in airtight containers, will limit the food supply for cockroaches and prevent or reduce infestations.  It is important to keep a clean house, and to encourage your tenants to clean up as well.   Having a housekeeper will  help you to keep an eye on the condition of your furnished apartment while your renters are living there, and will also help you to spot a cockroach infestation before it becomes out of control.  Place a few sticky glue traps in high traffic areas and ask your housekeeper to check them regularly. It is important to rid your home of cockroaches quickly, because they can carry disease.
